The Memoirs of Lady Hyegyeong, or Hanjungnok, was written by Lady Hyegyeong and recounted her ill-fated life first as Crown Princess, consort of Prince. Lady Hyegyeong (1735 –1816) was the wife of Prince Sado (1735 – 1762) who died after spending 8 days locked in a rice chest on the orders of his father King Yeongjo (r.1724 –1776).
